Feeling thankful for freedom

While Thanksgiving is a holiday particular to the United States, we at Startpage cannot help but be doubly appreciative these days, given the global events happening even as you’re reading this. Across the globe, people are taking to the streets, fighting for rights that so many of us take for granted. News outlets and social media are documenting these struggles against governments who do not recognize their citizens right to access an unrestricted internet, or the right to privacy while they access whatever internet is allowed. Startpage was founded on the belief that personal privacy IS a right that everyone should have access to, and while we wish we could do more to aid in the struggle for this right, worldwide, we are thankful that we can provide our users with innovations like our News Tab which can bring fight for human rights right to your device. Thus, if we only had to choose one during our turn around the family Thanksgiving table, we would say that we are overwhelmingly thankful for the ability to find anything we’re looking for with freedom.
